One-Day Events, sponsored by The Northern Kentucky Community Chorus

Singing is something everyone can do. It helps us to express ourselves. We learn about composers and music from a wide range of countries and time periods. We learn about breathing and vocal production. Singing in choirs creates a cultural community that gives us belonging and joy. Everyone should sing in a choir — at school, church, temple, or a community choir. There is a place for everyone and we want you to Come and Sing!

Our Come and Sing events are open to all singers from 9th grade through adults and will be held at Lakeside Presbyterian Church, 2690 Dixie Highway, Lakeside Park, KY.

Come & Sing: Plagues!
Our first event this season was fantastic as we learned the “plague” choruses from Handel’s oratorio Israel in Egypt with conductor, Isaac Selya, on October 5th.

Come & Sing: Haydn
What an experience! Singers from around the Cincinnati singing community joined to sing choruses from Haydn’s famous oratorios, The Creation and The Seasons with soloists and well-known accompanist.
This was a workshop day from 9:30 am-3:30 pm to sing only for the reason of lifelong learning. At the end of the day, we sang through what we had learned. CCM Professor Emeritus of Conducting, Dr. Earl Rivers, was our guest conductor, and we were joined by accompanist, Christina Haan and professional singers, Erin Keesy, Andrew Jones, and Mike Young.
Scores were provided.
This day was generously sponsored by Jim & Maria Wakefield, so the cost to you was only $10 for your lunch.
And finally, remember to spread the word to your singer friends to join us at our next Come and Sing!
